Technology-Supported Differentiation

Differentiation is extremely important in the classroom. It allows for diversity in the classroom and helps students learn in their own way. Technology is a fantastic tool to assist with differentiation in the classroom because it give all students the opportunities to learn.

It is important that tech coaches and educators have technology that supports diversity in their classroom. Discovering tools that are available for everyone of all backgrounds is important. We need to think about the technology tools we put in the classroom and assess whether those tools help differentiate the classroom and allow for diversity in the classroom.

One example of a technology "tool" that allows for differentiation is G Suite. Google applications allow students to interact with one another and collaborate on many topics. It also helps students take control of the classroom and really be in the driver seat of their learning. Google translate helps students communicate and learn in other languages. Google docs and slides allow students to work together on projects online in real time. Google's search engine also helps students get loads of information about anything quickly to help them differentiate their learning and make it personal.
