When we think about technology integration what do you think of first? Many people think about robots and high tech programs. When we think about robots and programming, we think about how much money and education it will take to use them in the classroom. However, there are a lot of easy and free programs that can teach students the skills they need to use robots and create programs for themselves. In this blog post I am going to talk about one of these free resources that teach students the basics of programming. Lightbot is a free online program that teachers can use to help students learn the basics of programming. It is simple to use and implement in the classroom. All you need to use this tool is device and the internet. The best way to use this tool is to teach students basic algorithmic thinking and problem solving. As the students go through the levels of the program, they get increasingly more difficult. It is a fantastic tool to teach critical thinking. If you are looking for new tech integration, check out Lightbot!

With this example in mind, think about how you could integrate more technology in your classroom. It doesn't always take a lot of money or time, but technology is something that needs to be in every classroom moving forward. Computer science is a growing topic and schools, and teachers need to look at how to teach those skills to students. If you want to check out an example of tech integration in a general classroom, click here. In this lesson plan, I take a general classroom approach and go through an entire lesson using technology and teaching skill that are cross-curricular.
